It’s been a LONG time since I’ve posted.
Life’s been busy and now it’s about to get crazier with school starting, kids in sports, and the busy season at my full-time job. So, as I sit here in a quiet house (my children are with their dad this weekend *insert sad face*), I reminisce on what an awesome vacation we all had with my mom, and I cannot help but feel a little sad about it being over.
On the other hand, planning for the next one has started and I know it won’t be long till we are enjoying each other’s company again without interruptions.
This vacation was a first for many reasons. It was my children’s first time in Florida. It was their first time experiencing the softness of the white sand beaches along Siesta Key. And it was their first time in the ocean, to which my 5 year old said, “we need to go somewhere else, this place is too salty.” Which brought so many flashbacks of my experiences in the ocean, and having that exact same thought.
Watching their eyes light up with excitement and anticipation as we made our way to the beach that first day, warmed my heart. It wasn’t long ago that I was their age and was fortunate enough to make the trek down to the ocean for a week over summer break for our yearly vacation. And although the experience wasn’t the exact same for my little ones, I am so grateful that they were able to experience the beauty in the ocean and soft white sand as I have.
