I imagine artists all over the world would love to be published.
For me, this wasn’t a goal.
My only hope has always been that my clients cherish the memories we’ve recorded. That they look back on them with a heart full of love and remember that moment in its entirety.
But then, I received an email from a recent client and friend, Ann, asking for permission to use a photo I’d taken of her family, in a news article. It wasn’t just any news article. It was an article about the Super Jake Foundation. A foundation established by Ann and her husband Matt almost 12 years ago.
Ann and Matt established the foundation after loosing their first son, Jake, to neuroblastoma. He was only 4 years old. They promised Jake that they would continue the good fight to find a cure for this disease that had touched so many families. And that’s what they’ve done.
So, when Ann asked for permission to use the only family photo they had that included their first born son, I didn’t hesitate to say “YES.” It’s such an honor to be a small part of this family and their incredible mission.
